To decrease the amount of bruising or swelling that might occur, avoid the following medications and supplements that can thin the blood:

  • Aspirin or aspirin containing products such as ibuprophen or aleave for one week prior to treatment.
  • Supplements like fish oil, vitamin E, and turmeric for one week prior to treatment.
  • Alcoholic beverages for 24-48 hours prior to treatment.

*If you are receiving prescribed blood-thinners under the care of a medical provider, continue to take these medications as prescribed and please notify Artistry Medical Aesthetics when booking your aesthetics procedure.

You should be able to go about your normal routine right after your Botox treatment, however, there are a few things to keep in mind when planning for this treatment.

  • Don’t touch! Avoid touching, massaging, or otherwise applying pressure to the treated area for at least 72 hours after receiving your treatment. Don’t forget, this also includes hats, helmets, tight headbands, and snow goggles, to provide a few examples.
  • Do not lie down for 4 hours after receiving your Botox treatment and avoid applying make-up if possible.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours after your treatment.
  • Avoid facials, laying face down for a massage, or other facial treatments like lasers or peels for 2 weeks following your treatment.
